Feeling Low

After 1.5 months of studying finally found the courage to give a manhattan GMAT test . But i was probably mistaken.

By the time i reached the 18th Question in Quant section i was already feeling low as if all my energy has drained trying to solve those quant questions. I thought i did well on some questions but was really irritated when I couldn't solve questions which i thought are my biggest strengths.

Finally gave up & exited the test. Thought i need some preparation on Word Problems in Quant.

Takeaways from yesterday failure:

1) Dont give up. Complete the test in order to see where u stand in terms of score.

2) Need to brush up & go through Manhattan number properties book & several other concepts in quant. Also need some more practice - to arrive at the answers faster.Started practicing on BTG quant forum with the timer on.

3) Feeling gud about the verbal section . So have to convert that into a good score.

Will give it another try today or tomorrow evening. Really want to beat the gmat. Its not a test any more. Its a way to show to the world & myself, Yes i can do it!

So here i go starting to write my blog Again.

Updates: Haven't taken GMAT till now. Procrastination prevails.

Anyways Updates on the Study part:

1) Completed CR Bible ( Powerscore) ---- Amazing book. Worked specifically on Assumption defender Questions (Learning how to logically Negate answer choices), Understanding the structure (premise, conclusion Indicators) , Variance tests ( Evaluate the argument Questions),
Parallel Reasoning, Boldface etc. etc. Feel more confident on CR part now.

2) Revised Manhattan SC again. Cleared some concepts on the use of be, been ,being.

Still confused on the Plural /singular recognition of verbs & nouns.Did 15 questions on SC from OG 2nd edition verbal review.

3) Did all the PS & DS question from OG 12th Edition for the third time. Analyzed each & every question in depth & now feel comfortable with the GMAT question Pattern.

Practiced nothing on RC as such. May be will refer to RC 99. or may be not.

So after finishing all this i think i am in a good shape too start my practice tests which will consist of total 8 tests ( 6 Manhattan & 2 GMAT prep.)

Expecting to score somewhere around 650 initially.

GMAT QUANT PRACTICE

Practicing quant from OG 12. Have done it earlier though.... doing again to analyze my weak areas. Conclusions till now:

* SET theory - Concepts need to be revised... always getting stuck.

SET theory in manhattan guides is not very detailed & does not contain the variety of questions we might see on gmat. This is what i feel...... may be i have to refer to sum of the CAT material.

Looking for a date - THE GMAT DATE

Its more than a month since i have started to prepare for GMAT . Thought will take a date soon.....but all in vain. Its scary###........

Still thinking should i take the date or should i take it when i feel confident about it.

It might help to take a date as it will put an added pressure to study actively & not be very lethargic.
